CMU packages depend on more than wall area. Wall thickness, height, finish, reinforcing requirements, openings and the work assigned to other trades all affect the scope to be reviewed. Identify each block wall type and where it appears in the plans.
Send the structural details alongside architectural plans and wall sections. Reinforcing, grout and connections should follow the project design. If details conflict or information is missing, identify the question for the design team rather than assuming a requirement.
Include quantities or a scope sheet if you have them, and state whether they are preliminary. Distinguish new construction from infill or work tied into an existing wall so those conditions can be discussed separately.
Openings can involve masonry, frames, lintels and work by several trades. Clearly identify who supplies and sets each item and which details govern. Existing-condition photos are useful when the work involves an addition or infill.
Wall area alone does not define reinforcing or grout requirements. Provide the structural schedules and details for the project. Engineering requirements need to come from the responsible designer.
Send the latest drawing issue, addenda and bid instructions together. Highlight revised wall types, openings and deadlines so the scope being discussed reflects the current documents.
